Hat-Trick Mai shines as Wolves sink the Seahawks

PEER DELIGHT: Peer (G8) celebrating after his sublime half-volley

A brilliant hat-trick from Mai (G8) led the U15 Boys to a victory in their first game of the season as they thumped Wells Seahawks 6-1 at the Wolves’ Den on Wednesday afternoon.

The Wolves were frustrated in the first 10 minutes as they couldn’t seem to open the scoring despite breaking down Wells defense into shambles with creative passwork. The deadlock was finally broken in the 12th minute after Alex’s free-kick led to a goalmouth scramble in the Wells penalty box, resulting in Aeneas (G8) blasting the ball into the net from close range.

The opening goal seemed to have overexcited the Wolves though as Maoi (G9) had to make a couple of saves after sloppy clearances by the KIS defenders. The Wolves did get back in serious mode again as they scored another goal right before the half-time. Mai crossed the ball low to the Wells penalty box after a silky run down the right, which somehow found Prin (G9) after the Wells keeper spilled the ball. It was simple for Prin as he easily poked the ball into the net.

PRIN-POKE: Prin (G9) scores Wolves’ second goal

The second half couldn’t have started any better for the Wolves as Mai’s long range screamer just about 30 seconds into the kick-off somehow found the net. Although Wells managed to get a goal back few minutes later, the boys replied back with three STUNNING goals.

First Peer (G8) took a lovely half volley which drilled into the bottom corner, then came Mai with a lovely dribble through three defenders and rolled the ball through the keeper’s legs eventually into the net. The boys put an icing on the cake before the end of the game after Mai scored another screamer into the bottom-left corner ending the game in a 6-1 win!
