From March 29th to the 31st, KIS will be having a first-ever Secondary School Book Fair!
The book fair will include books on sale from Books@53, Asia Books, and Nai In. Many of these books are recommended by the KIS English department. The books available range from those appropriate for 4th graders to adults. A percent of the total sale will go toward crediting KIS to make a purchase for the Secondary School Library, which is another great reason to support this event.
Reading is an extremely important skill. Firstly, the all-important SAT Critical Reading section is very difficult to “review” for; years of preparation through independent reading for pleasure is much more effective than trying to cram vocabulary words the night before the test. In addition, reading helps open up your mind to new perspectives and it’s a great way of learning outside the classroom. Finally, reading is fun!
We hope to see you at the book fair!
