The Wolf’s Howl |17M|

I think if my life doesn’t seem to be going too well, at least it should have an amazing soundtrack. Now, weekly, from yours truly, a few songs playing in the back of my mind will be here, broken down for you to listen to and judge.

Artist: Kaskade & CID

Album: Automatic Year: 2015

Genre: Electro House

Thoughts: I’ll be honest, I had no idea of the existence of this song until last week, when someone LINE’d and recommended this piece to me. It took me 30 seconds to fall in love with the serene, summery sound. Really got me appreciating other people’s music tastes.

Rating: 6/7

Artist: Hayden James (ODESZA remix)

Album: – Year: 2015

Genre: Electronic

Thoughts: I stumbled upon this song during a hard time in my life – right before summative hell week. Somehow this song managed to help me concentrate on doing my work. Hmmm, I think we need a “study” playlist soon… The lyrics too, touched an emotional chord buried deep in my mind but was pleasantly contrasted with the cheery notes. If you’re a lyrics person like me, you can appreciate this, and if you just like sounds that soothe , this is amazing.

Rating: 5/7

Artist: Twenty One Pilots (Tomsize remix)

Album:  Year: 2016

Genre: Electropop, indie pop, alternative

Thoughts: After the original became mainstream, and I was forced to listen to it at almost every store, I found this remix refreshing. Okay, okay, it’s not much different from the original, but the additional beats enhance the production value for me. I love Twenty One Pilots in their own, original, raw works, but I found myself really, really enjoying this one.

Rating: 5/7

Artist: Vaydr

Album:  Year: 2016

Genre: Trap

Thoughts: Okay, yes, Vaydr’s name is probably the biggest reason I have a bias towards him. But, seriously, hear him out. This song had me bobbing my head in public without care, and that means a lot to me. It is the epitome of trap for me (other wise known as electronic noise to adults). It has an ‘evil mastermind’ air to it, and that definitely sells it to me.

Rating: 6/7

I realize this week was very electronic based – but I promise I’ll bring in more genres next time.Have a song you’re in love with but no one knows about? Contact ayeshaashe on LINE  – or just KISToday
