A few hours ago I interviewed the amazing Ms. Ana! You know the drill, here’s how it went:
1. Where are you from?
I am from Portugal but have not lived there for 13 years.
2. What did you do before becoming a teacher here at KIS?
I have been a teacher for 10 years and last year I was a counsellor (I am a Clinical Psychologist too) helping students in a school to develop socially and emotionally.
3. What are your hobbies/what do you like to do for fun?
I love sports, so I run, do Yoga and swim. I spend a lot of time reading and I really enjoy cross-stitching.
4. Why did you come/choose KIS?
I heard very good things about KIS and I knew what a great school it would be to work in. I have been given the incredible opportunity to set up the DP Psychology subject at KIS. Hopefully, I can inspire students to understand the world they live in and understand human behaviour. I hope to be able to do that in MYP I&S which I also teach.
5. What have you enjoyed most about working here?
I have enjoyed everything so far. Students are very friendly and welcoming, staff very supportive. A true community full of spirit.
6. What are/were your first impression(s)?
My first impressions are how happy the school is and how positive everyone is.
7. What do you most look forward to?
Looking forward to getting to know the students and having fun teaching them about the world.
