Earlier today I interviewed the pleasant Mr. Patrick! He was really nice and he told me lots about himself, so keep reading to know how it went:
1. Where are you from?
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
2. What did you do before becoming a teacher here at KIS?
I was a teacher in East Timor for 3 and a half years, I was also in Japan for a year and studied a course while my wife worked there.
3. What are your hobbies/what do you like to do for fun?
Well, I like music of all varieties, although my top two picks would be folk and rock. I also play the drums and like sports, I’m not very good though. The main sport I like is rugby but it’s more watching than playing.
4. Why did you come/choose KIS?
My wife works here, she’s actually been teaching here since last year. She was here last year and she told me lots of good things about this school so I joined her at work. Plus, I was in Bangkok already and the job came up so I applied for it.
5. What have you enjoyed most about working here?
The students; they’re very happy, friendly and polite. After almost every lesson the students say thanks on their way out, which I think is really nice. Another thing I like around here is the artwork around the school.
6. What are/were your first impression(s)?
My first impressions were that this was a very well-organised school, that this was a very happy community and that the students seem to wanna be here, so they also enjoy it.
7. What do you most look forward to?
Well, I teach DP so I really look forward to seeing kids achieve their goals, but also just all the students in general.
