Wolves Basketball Season Start with a Comfortable Win

The U13 Girls basketball team comfortably beat St. Andrew Samakee in a friendly match with the score 12-2 on Monday night getting the Wolves Basketball season off to a flying start.

It took a while for Wolves to score the first basket of the game after several attempts from Elizabeth, Idea, and Nadia kept on knocking on Samakee’s basket but somehow the ball doesn’t seem to roll in the basket. However, Idea’s resilient rebounding throughout the first quarter led to baskets giving the girls a 4-2 lead.

Hustle Tussle: Nadia (down) hustles for the ball against Samakee players

The girls then later focused on their defense in the second quarter, where they frustrated Samakee, forcing them to pass around the basket not letting them get any easy shots. The Wolves managed to force Samakee to make many turnovers in which they capitalized the chance letting Idea score easy baskets making the score 8-2 at half-time.

The second-half was played in a similar pattern as before as Idea and Elizabeth gave the Wolves many chances, especially after the rebound. With a solid dribbling performance from Kym and Alise during the second half, the girls managed to shut Samakee down scoreless in the last 3 quarters! Well done girls! 🙂

Dream Debut: The new KIS basketball scoreboard was used for the first time today! 🙂

Box Score: Idea (8pts), Alise (2 pts), Ana (2 pts)
