Senior Boys are now one step closer to winning the league title for the first time in 5 years, as they recorded a 100% win-rate in their first mini-league at KIS on February 28th.
The boys started off with a game against tricky St. Stephens side and managed to score an early goal thanks to Rajat. The boys dominated throughout the half but St. Stephen’s managed to capitalize on their only chance in the half following a nice half-volley into the top right corner. After the half-time break Rajat responded back with a thunderbolt strike from a really tight angle and also sealed the game with this hat-trick goal minutes before the end of the game. Despite St. Stephen’s giving late scares as they scored a goal with a minute or so left, it was merely a consolation goal as the boys held on to win the game with the score of 3-2.

The second game was against Wells and the boys looked confident as they had already beaten Wells twice this season. However the boys were frustrated throughout the half and into the early second half as the Wells keeper pulled strings of saves along with a couple of woodwork curses. It looked like the game was going to end goalless until Abhi scored the goal from a towering header just seconds after coming off the bench to give the boys the lead, and finally Rajat sealed the deal from a counter attack. The win meant the boys just had to beat Bromsgrove in order to stay 5 points clear from 2nd place which would nearly guarantee them the title!
The last game against Bromsgrove started perfectly as Budi scored from close range following an indirect free-kick. Both sides shared equal chances but failed to capitalize on them as most of the shots were slightly wide or high. Bromsgrove looked more determined to win in the second-half as they knew a win for Wolves would damage Bromsgrove’s chance for a title, but it was the Wolves’ counter-attack that sealed the deal as Byte drilled home what looked to be a fatal blow. The boys ended their tournament with 2 wins out of 3, and this will mean that they will win their first ever league title in 5 years, if they just beat Bromsgrove in their next Tournament on March 15th.
COME ON YOU WOLVES!

Thanks to everyone who came out and supported the team!
