Last week it was our privilege to welcome Mr Thulani Madondo and the Kliptown Youth Program to KIS International School.  

Kliptown is a suburb of the township of Soweto in Gauteng, South Africa,  KYP is an after school tutoring and personal development program for the disadvantaged children of Kliptown. Their mission is to  eradicate poverty of mind, body, and soul and to fight against the disadvantages imposed on the children of Kliptown; by providing educational support and positive activities to engage in after school.

Energetic. Soulful. Touching. Meaningful. These are the words I could use to describe the performance that we all saw by KYP. There was presence in their performance … their energy radiated and I could feel the aura of their passion behind their smiling faces

One of the most potent aspects of the performance was their energy. They had a huge amount of energy that they then expressed outwards during the performance; they danced with passion rather than practice.
