Political Ideologies with G10

The following article was written by Thomas and Sun (G10).

Hello there comrades,

Thomas and Sun here with a state-sanctioned public announcement/update on the advancement of the Grade 10’s growing understanding of politics. Grade 10 is currently in the middle of their summative research project for their first unit of I&S, which is Political Ideology and Government Systems. As the students toil away like the repressed proletariat, let’s take a look back at one of the highlights of the unit.

Creating your own perfect society.

Students were handed the task of creating “perfect societies” based on a political ideology, a government type and an economic policy. Take for example the following societies below.

Sun’s

This particular society is a curious combination of Totalitarianism, Fascism, and Socialism. As it is totalitarian, the government has total control of people’s lives, and people are constantly watched for signs of dissent. Basically a dystopian-ish surveillance state. It’s also fascist, so not only does the state watch and control you, the state expects you to be totally loyal to its cause, whether you want to or not. It’s socialist, meaning the state controls the economy. Living in this country seems like fun. Don’t worry, if it’s not fun, there’s always the concentration camps.

Thomas’

Whilst Sun had some kind of Neo-Nazi Proto-Fascist Society (Proto in the sense that such a nation will bring you nowhere in society, the ideals are primitive and brutish at best), The society that I was apart of creating is a dictatorship of the proletariat, and is has a strong basis in social equality as it is a mix of Marxism, Oligarchy and Communism. Yes, that is equality in society, equality in economy, but with a small group of Oligarchs at the top that determine the path of the nation as they strive to achieve the final goal of any Marxist dreamer, a true communist and Marxist society, where everything is owned by everyone and everyone is socially equal.

If you are currently unclear as to where your social, economic and general beliefs place you in the realm of politics, start understanding now. As the world today is currently (currently and has always been)  full of events and things that are influenced by politics and the incredible variety of ideologies followed by our world’s leaders

Go test yourself at https://www.politicalcompass.org/test to see where you are. Are you a Libertarian? A Social Democrat? A *coughs in disgust* Centrist? or even an Anarchist? If you’re not political yet, you better start being. This is, after all, how our society is organised and without any understanding of politics and ideology how are you supposed to make informed decisions at the ballot box when it’s your turn to elect the next leader of your country? Just as a general rule of thumb, if there’s a guy who’s a business mogul, has 0 experience in politics, and has orange leathery skin, don’t vote for the bloke. Otherwise, in the end, the voice of the stupid people win out (vox stultus populi, as the Romans would say).
