10 years after the Battle of the Breach, the war with Kaijus is not yet over. The colossal monsters that emerged from an interdimensional portal on the bottom of the Pacific Ocean are still there. The PPDC now calls upon the best and brightest to rise up and become the next generation of Jaeger pilots when the Kaiju threat returns.

Born in a time of war, Jake Pentecost, son of Colonel Stacker is recruited in a new generation of pilots, a new fleet of Jaegers to prevent humanity’s second brink of extinction.

Pacific Rim is a sincere commemoration and deconstruction of the mecha and kaiju genres from Neon Genesis Evangelion. Its sequel, Pacific Rim: Uprising plunges into a more dystopian and futuristic post-war world.

It utterly displays a continuation of mechanical war in a distorted dystopian neon-lit cityscape. It portrays a different angle of the design and making of an army in the now most powerful global defense force in human history, the Pan Pacific Defense Corps.
