BROCKHAMPTON – GOLD
Artist(s): BROCKHAMPTON
Album: Saturation II
Year: 2017
Genre(s): Hip-hop/rap
Thoughts:
If you are not familiar with BROCKHAMPTON’s music, then you are not familiar with the new age of rap and hip-hop. Though it is a well known fact that Kendrick Lamar, Drake, J. Cole and other kings of rap have been killing the rap industry lately, BROCKHAMPTON can not be ignored. BROCKHAMPTON redefines the concept of a boy-band and if you have listened, watched or even looked at their group, you can see how. I won’t go too in depth with these legends at this point, but if you are not familiar with them “GOLD” will show you the up-and-coming BROCKHAMPTON style of rap.

Tyler, The Creator – Rose Tinted Cheeks
Artist(s): Tyler, The Creator
Album: SINGLE (a song draft that would’ve gone into the Flower Boy album)
Year: 2018
Genre(s): Alternative/ Hip-hop
Thoughts:
Since it is a rough draft of a song, if you could not tell from the off-pitch voice and the title, it is not one of the best examples of the artists ability. However the song is incredible melodic. As weird as this sounds, there is something about the soft and harmonious “awkward notes” that make the song’s lyric fit so well. To directly quote how this song makes me feel, I have to refer to the comment section of the video above:
“This song is making me feel nostalgic for memories I’ve never had” – Anonymous

Zack Villere – Me and Michael
Artist(s): Zack Villere
Album: Little World
Year: 2017
Genre(s): Alternative/ Indie
Thoughts:
There’s no proper way of explaining how “Cool” makes me feel but it is such a GOOD SONG. I am, personally, into a lot of indie artists and songs (if you could not tell) and Zack Villere is one of the most stereotypically different artists. To simply describe him and his songs, I would have to say that he is a male-version of Clairo and has an incredible quirk that makes you want to listen to the songs more and more.

Sara King – Sunflower
Artist(s): Sara King (originally by Rex Orange County)
Year: 2017
Genre(s): Indie
Thoughts:
Though the song is originally by Rex Orange County, Sara King performs “Sunflower” so seamlessly and so perfectly with her voice. Though I do not think that listening music will help you with your studies per se, BUT this is an amazing study song to at least get you in the mood to cool down and start working.
