Hi everyone! If you’d like to know more about our new Performing Arts teacher, Mr. Bastien, read on to find out what he has to say about himself 🙂
-
First and foremost, what subjects do you teach, and to whom?
I’m teaching Performing Arts to the MYP (grades 6-10) and Drama Club.
-
Next, what would you like or want all of us to know about yourself?
I’ve been teaching overseas for over 13 years now and KIS is my 7th international school. I was working in Sofia, Bulgaria before coming here.
-
Any hobbies, passions, interests that you like to indulge in?
I love theater and improvisation of course, but I also like sports: Hockey, Rugby, Soccer, Triathlon.
- Have you enjoyed your time at KIS so far? How so?
The students are really happy and motivated to participate in drama activities, I really like it.
-
If you are new to Thailand, please tell us about how you feel being here.
I like Thailand. So many things to do, this country has endless possibilities.
-
What do you love most about the subject(s) that you’re currently teaching? Have they always been of interest to you?
I like to see people outside of their comfort zone. They can then express themselves and find a good way to give out a message, an emotion with a lot of creativity and imagination. I love it.
-
Lastly, would you like to impart any advice for students in the MYP or DP, or just all of us in general?
NO fear, try try try try try,

Well, that was all. Glad we got to know more about you Mr. Bastien, welcome to KIS!
