(There are some spoilers!)
You might see that relationships in movies are extremely romantic and perfect. Well, we all know that a perfect relationship does not exist in reality but in movies, they’re simply just fiction. But what is a real-life relationship like or could real-life relationships be just as perfect as in movies?
There are many characteristics of relationships that are portrayed in movies. However, the main one is that at the end of movies, the lovers always end up together. For example, any Disney princess movie would end happily ever after. Not even a single Disney princess movie shows the princess as not having a happily ever after or not finding her prince charming. Another example is that couples in movies definitely have conflicts with each other. Most of the conflicts are based on feuding families, such as in Romeo and Juliet where they both doubted that they’re not right for each other, were not interested in each other and pretending to be.
The movie named To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before was originally a book. This was produced in 2018, starring Noah Centineo and Lana Condor, In the Netflix film, the main characters, Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky, faked their relationships to achieve their goal. However, even though things do go as planned, they both actually start falling for each other.
Real-life relationships are mostly explained as a roller coaster experience. According to Sabrina Alexis, in reality, couples will fight and that is normal because it’s rare to find a significant other who has the same likes and dislikes as you. There would be times when it all seems wonderful, but there would also be times when everything seems messed up.
The movie ‘The Notebook’ is similar to how real-life couple are. This movie is realistic because in real life people get married, start a family, turn old, and start getting sick. What stood out most in this movie was the death scene because it is quite unrealistic and unlikely that two people would die at the exact same time, regardless of how much they love each other.
In conclusion, real-life relationships are different from movie relationships because there is no such thing as ‘the one’ or ‘the perfect man/woman.’ Most relationships in the present are tough because more people are getting divorced today than in the past. Therefore, it is very rare for two individuals to live up to their vows and to grow old together. The answer to the question “could real-life relationships be as perfect as in movies?” is yes and no, because, at the beginning of a relationship, everything is risky and exciting. However, once you get to know everything about the person, there’s no excitement left.
