Football Tournament: Day 1

Today marked the first day of the football tournament! Here’s some more detail about the scoring AND today’s standings.

Scoring

We will be awarding points for every match played. So,

2 points will be awarded to the house that wins.
1 point will be awarded to both houses if there’s a draw.
0 points to the house that loses the match (sorry!).

We will be combining the total goals from both G6-8 and G9-12 matches. There should be three girls and four boys or vice versa on the field. If there are more than four boys or more than four girls, two points will be deducted for every extra boy/girl there is on the field.

So let’s say House A has six girls and one boy playing. Because there are two extra girls, we will be deducting four points from the score. If this doesn’t make sense, please comment below and we’ll clarify.

Then on Wednesday, SC will count up the total number of points each house wins. The two houses with the highest number of points will proceed to the finals (which will take place on Friday). The other two houses will proceed to the semi-finals (which will take place on Thursday).
