KIS’s first house softball tournament will take place on April 30th, May 2nd and May 3rd.
The rules of the tournament are as follows:
- The first set of games starts at 12:35 and ends at 12:47 for Grades 6 to 8.
- The second set of games starts at 12:48 and ends at 1:00 for Grades 9 to 12.
- Each team will play one inning (bat and field once). Each inning lasts around 6 minutes or until everyone on the team bats once.
- Each team needs a min. of 9 people and a max. of 10* It is recommended that you bring a hat and a water bottle as it may be very hot next week.
You don’t have to have any experience at all in order to sign up. This is your chance to try something new!
The general guidelines of that games are that once you hit the ball (off the tee for grades 6-8 and teacher pitchers for grades 9-11), your aim is to get to the next base (small square mats) before the ball reaches the person by the base. If your team is fielding, your aim is to catch the ball and throw it towards a person standing by any base (small square mats) that has a runner running to it before the runner reaches it. Your team scores once someone successfully runs through all of the bases.
These house points will be awarded accordingly
- 1st place = 100 points
- 2nd place = 80 points
- 3rd place = 60 points
- 4th place = 40 points
